The Unmanned Climbing Robot, or UCR is a wheeled robot designed to climb on vertical ferritic surfaces for inspection purposes. Upon deployment, the robot can be remote-controlled at a range of 30 metres to traverse in all directions as well as turn in-situ and on-the-move. This allows the user to survey all areas with ease using the on-board lookout and drive cameras, which transmit live footages back to the user even in low-light conditions.
Built to be highly portable, the UCR takes up a footprint of less than 0.5 square metres and weighs about 30 kilogrammes. In addition, the robot can be used to carry payloads of up to 10 kilogrammes. It is powered by swappable lithium-ion batteries and designed with an IP67 rating to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
